Fellow Heart Mom TV Interview

A fellow heart mom did a TV interview today to raise awareness about congenital heart defects during CHD Awareness week. She did fabulous! I think if I were to do an interview like that, I would be a bundle of nerves, my thoughts would be going a mile a minute and I'm sure speaking those thoughts I would cave under pressure. Another thought in closing: If you are going to have children someday or expecting a baby right now, request a pulse oximeter test after your baby is born. When I have been reading the When Life Hands You A Broken Heart blog all week, lots of heart moms have said that their advice to other families would be to request one at birth and it makes sense. If heart defects are not caught at birth, a pulse oximeter test could be able to show that something may be wrong if the oxygen levels are lower. Some hospitals this is a standard practice to do this, but most hospitals don't do this.
